Discovering RiverWest Antique Mall: A Treasure Trove of Vintage Finds in Madison

Tucked away at 1029 W 2nd Street sits RiverWest Antique Mall. This Madison treasure offers unique finds that attract customers from around the world. Spanning 13,000 square feet, the mall features a wide variety of items, including antique glass, fine furniture, and collectibles of all kinds.

RiverWest Antique Mall opened in 2005 and became a staple in Madison. The current owner, Rick Grote, purchased the business in September 2013. After years of working for his family business, Rick decided he wanted to invest in his own business. "It was already profitable, and I saw additional opportunities for growth." Grote shared. Known for its diverse selection of antiques and friendly atmosphere, the mall has earned a loyal following. Jennifer, a longtime employee, is a favorite among new and repeat customers, so much so that she’s often requested by name. "My favorite part of the job is seeing the regular customers," said Jennifer.

Another highlight of RiverWest Antique Mall is its network of 100 vendors, who have become close friends of the staff. These vendors have their own specialty booths across nine different areas within the mall, offering a wide variety of items that spark the interest of any shopper. "Customers from all over the country come to Madison to shop with us," Jennifer added. RiverWest Antique Mall is consistent with their hours of operation, open every day from 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

In 2024, popular items include vintage glassware, vinyl records, and rare collectibles. Shelves are filled with antique glassware, knick-knacks, and vintage photos. The main room features well-maintained hardware, while a nearby section offers colorful Tupperware in a variety of sizes. Primitives and cabinets are also staples of the mall that keep customers coming back.

Towards the back, shoppers will find booths filled with clothing and home décor to suit any style or occasion. The clothing selection includes vintage flannels, stylish hats, chic cheetah prints, and comical graphic tees. There's also a variety of jewelry, accessories, and shoes to help complete the perfect look.
