That Guy’s Barbershop officially opened its doors on April 2, 2023, though the journey began in February 2022. When it came to naming his business, Patric was determined to find something both unique and personal. Initially, he considered names that referenced Madison, but ultimately decided to incorporate his own last name. “As I thought more about it, I knew I had to include my last name somehow because it’s too easy,” Patric explains. One day, while driving, the name “That Guy’s Barbershop” struck him and felt like the perfect fit.

Patric’s passion for barbershops is deeply rooted in his past. Growing up, he spent considerable time at a neighbor’s barbershop, where the atmosphere was magnetic. “My neighbor never seemed to truly work a day in his life because he enjoyed his craft so much, and I knew that was something I’d like to have as well,” Patric recalls.

Patric still looks back on his first day opening the barbershop. Setting up the sandwich board on Main Street for the first time and taking a look at the river before starting his day. It was a fresh start, and he was excited to get started. Another highlight of Patric’s journey was being awarded the Small Business of the Year by the Madison Area Chamber of Commerce in 2023—a testament to his dedication and hard work.
